Dalawang Masayang Konsepto!!!

Ei-Ow!!!

sulat ko 'to kay ser tungkol sa concept paper natin. ini-edit ko na lang ng kaunti. pasensya na kung nasa English. hindi ako makakapg-isip ng mabuti sa Filipino kung madaliam. pumapalya ako sa grammar eh.

five of us (wents, jano, maiden, abby and i ) in our group met this morning and have formulated the process in which we'll approach our final project. We had such fun doing it that we came up with two projects.

we wanted to compile texts about national awareness since none of us care. i mean, we're not that involved on national issues as we ought to be, so we decided to formulate our opinions about the hottest issue in this seemingly God-forsaken country: the most problematic Filipina in the world. being able to have a solid opinion, either pro or anti, is the first step of nationalism and compassion for us. for this reason, five of us (i don't know about the others yet) will attend the rally on Wednesday (Sept.21) for visual documentation (and group bonding as well. none of us has ever attended a rally before. we'll defy our parents this time!). we'll meet up at 1pm in the AS Lobby and will go to Ayala, not Mendiola. i'm not yet sure, though.


thus, the first task: each of us will write a poem about our opinion on pGMA. There are ten of us: five will write sonnets while the other half will compose villaneles. We will compile it on the web (either on a blog or a free website ), along with additional literary pieces (if time will permit us - which i think it will). the ten said poems are the foundation of the internet spot. the other pieces are the spices.

the second compilation was agreed upon to be personal renditions of our sentiments. we would like to vent out our happiness, angst, doubts, love, mentality to a world that is defined by technology and materialism. the society controls us, we agree, but it also causes us to wander off because of its irrational manipulation. but just like you've said, we are influenced by it in every aspect of our being.

thus, the second project is, well, "serious": the concept is "what if i was an appliance that could talk?" electricity is the society, the function of each aplliance is our role, the characteristics are our feelings as well as our social duties, etc. we will integrate human emotions with their mechanical characteristics. we will present our cases through freelance poems, monologues or short stories (we're still on the process of deciding on what form, maybe ser can help us). we will write it in on the black and white outline of our individual portraits (whole 8.5x11 bond paper size). instead of the ink as the fill, words will compose the outlines of our facial features. so it's a protrait-script (i apologize po for not being able to provide you with a visual sample. maybe some other time). We will take SOLO pictures set on a white background for the outline.

maybe you've noticed: our manuscripts on the first concept will be subjected to literary rules while on the second, freedom will be our master (and your suggestion, of course). and yes, it will all be in Filipino, in case you're worried. we're confident that we can do this, and we really want to. extensive effort will be exerted, don't worry.
